Accessibility Statement
Effective date: August 26, 2026 Last updated: August 26, 2026
KYMA Soho LLC, doing business as Selene, is committed to making our restaurant and our website welcoming to everyone, including guests with disabilities. Hospitality that excludes anyone is not hospitality.
Accessibility at the restaurant
Our space at 23 Grand Street is designed for step-free access throughout.
-
Entrance. The entrance is step-free from the sidewalk.
-
Elevator. An elevator serves every floor of the space.
-
Dining room. ADA compliant.
-
Bar. ADA-compliant tables and seating are available in the bar area.
-
Restrooms. ADA compliant.
-
Service animals. Service animals are welcome throughout the restaurant.
-
Menus. Large-print menus are available on request. Our team is glad to read the menu aloud and describe any dish in detail.
-
Allergies and dietary needs. Tell us when you book or when you arrive, and our kitchen will work with you.
If you have a specific access need for your visit, call 212.279.9199 in advance and we will prepare for it.
Our standard for the website
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, cognitive, motor, and neurological disabilities.
We also work to meet our obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, and the New York City Human Rights Law.
Current conformance status: partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively working on the items listed below.
What we have done
-
Descriptive alternative text on images that convey information.
-
Text and background color combinations reviewed for contrast.
-
Keyboard navigation for the primary navigation, reservation, and menu links.
-
Responsive layouts that support zoom and reflow on phones, tablets, and desktops.
-
Descriptive link text, so links make sense when read out of context.
-
Clear, plain language in menus, hours, and location information.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than have you find them yourself.
-
Menus are published as PDF files. PDFs are not always readable by screen readers or easy to enlarge on a phone. We are working to publish all menus as accessible web pages. In the meantime, call 212.279.9199 or email us and we will read you the menu, send it in plain text, or provide a large-print copy in the restaurant.
-
Embedded social media feed. Our Instagram feed is supplied by a third party. Alternative text on those images is set by the original poster and is outside our control.
-
Third-party booking and ordering platforms. Reservations (SevenRooms), private event inquiries (Tripleseat), and gift cards (Toast) are hosted by outside providers whose accessibility we do not control. If any of these is difficult to use, call or email us and we will complete the booking, inquiry, or gift card purchase for you directly.
-
Embedded maps. Google Maps content is provided by Google and follows Google's own accessibility implementation.
-
Decorative and background imagery. Some gallery and background images are still being reviewed for correct labeling.
Assistive technology
The Site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) used together with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA, and JAWS. Older browsers or older assistive technology may produce inconsistent results.
Tell us where we fall short
We treat accessibility feedback as a priority, not a complaint.

When you write, please tell us the page or the part of the restaurant involved, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within three business days, and we will tell you what we are doing about it and when.
If our response does not resolve the issue, you are entitled to escalate it, and we will provide the relevant contact information on request.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a project with an end date. We review the Site when we make significant changes, and at least annually. This statement is updated as that work progresses.
